► WHERE IS MY MUSIC LOCATED?
If you have purchased the music and graphics package and installed it from your installation DVD, you can find the music in C:\VideoTributes\
The music is organized into folders by genre. You can download a full list of songs here: http://www.timeless-tributes.com/documentation/music_library.txt
►HOW DO I UNDERSTAND THE MUSIC FILE NAMES?
Most of the music has a title that looks like this:
Lifes_Journey-light_jazz_sax_12m47s
The portion we have highlighted in RED is the song title. This is followed by a description of the musical composition (GREEN). Followed by the song’s length in minutes & seconds (BLUE).
► WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WEB & DVD QUALITY MUSIC?
Our complete music library of 750 songs is available in two formats: WEB (32kbps) and DVD (320kbps). Here are the differences:
WEB Quality - The WEB quality music is recorded at 32kbps. It is similar quality to FM radio. The benefit of this music is that the file size is very small. Use this music for all videos you upload to the internet. This music also takes up far less space on your hard drive. If you are listening to the video on a TV you will notice very little difference in sound quality.
DVD Quality - The DVD quality music is recorded at 320kbps (10x better than WEB quality). It is true CD quality with no compression. As a result the music files are very large. We do not recommend uploading a video with DVD music to the internet, the video will be too large. DVD Quality music is recommended if you are viewing the video in a chapel or household with a high quality stereo system.
► HOW DO I COMBINE SONGS WITH PLAYLISTS?
Ever had two or three songs you would like to combine for your tribute video? Try creating a Playlist.
Playlists are a series of songs you combine and are easy to create. Here is how:
• Click-on TOOLS then select BUILD MP3 PLAYLIST from the drop-down window.
• Click-on the ADD button
• Choose the songs you would like to add
• Click the "Move Up" and "Move Down" buttons to change the song order
• Save Playlist in the "Music (Playlists)" folder found in your
C:\VideoTributes\ directory
• If you want to preview your Playlist (or any song). Click the MUSIC button. Select the desired Playlist or song and click-on the LISTEN icon. Your defualt music player will start playing the song.
*TIP: Save time by using the same playlist in future videos.
► CAN I LEGALLY USE A CD THE FAMILY GIVES ME?
The disappointing answer is no. BMI, ASCAP, SESAC and SOCAN licenses do not include the right to “synchronize” music to a video or publish it on the Internet. This means that “popular” music provided by the family should not be used with a Timeless Tributes™ video (or any other similar product/service) unless a license has been negotiated with both the record company and the composer. Needless to say, this licensing process is slow and expensive. Nevertheless, we are committed to building the best music library in the industry… and already have a strong foundation. All of our music has video synchronization and web streaming licenses.
