► (1) SELECT PHOTOS
Click on the “Photos...” button to select your photos. When selecting the photos, you can select a few or
an entire directory of photos.
*TIP: To select a few photos you can hold your CTRL key while
clicking-on the desired photos.
Click-on the OPEN button to bring the selected photos into Timeless Tributes™.
Next you can arrange (or even delete) the selected photos. To change the order of a photo, simply click and hold the
left mouse button down while dragging the picture to the desired location in the show. You photos will be displayed in
the order from top-left to bottom right.
If you decide to DELETE a photo you
are only deleting it from the show, not your hard drive. You can also COPY and PASTE photos if you would like to repeat key
photos in your show.
► (2) SELECT TRANSITIONS & EFFECTS
Transition and Effects bring your show to life. However, you will want to avoid using too many different transitions and
effects in you show… it can get too busy and communicate a cluttered or rushed feel. There are
three categories of effects: Transition-In, Effects, and Transition-Out.
To apply a transition or effect, click on the photo (or hold down CTRL and select multiple photos) and choose the desired transition in, effect and transition out on the right menu in Timeless Tributes™.
► (3) ADD TECT TO PHOTOS
Next, you can add text to your photos, such as an inscription like "In Memory Of"
To add text, click on the photo you want to add text to then click on the "Photo Caption" box on the right side of the screen. The caption will automatically be horizontally centered on the photo.
*TIP: Press the "Enter" button a few times before typing to center the caption vertically.
*NOTE: You must have a background selected (settings>custom) for your caption to appear.
► (4) SELECT MUSIC
If you have purchased the Timeless Tributes™ Music/Graphics package the complete music collection is located in the “C:\VideoTributes” directory. Timeless Tributes™ will use ANY song saved in an MP3 format (however, we recommend ONLY using our LICENSED music). You can also select a Window Media Player playlist of multiple songs.
To add a song click the "Music" button and choose the desired song or to create a playlist of multiple songs select "Tools>Build MP3 playlist"
► (5) SELECT THEME
Click the "Settings" tab. To select your background, click on the "Custom" button. Scroll down the "Theme” window and select a background that you prefer. Next scroll down the “Photo Size” window and select the size you want for your pictures. Click the OK button to select the highlighted background and photo size.
Instead of a background picture you can select a "Theme". A theme will show a series of 4 photos of the same theme throughout your tribute video.
*TIP: Don't want a background photo? You can choose "Black Background" or "White Background"
► (6) SYNCHRONIZE TIME
You will find that transitions lasting 2-4 seconds and effects lasting 4-8 seconds creates an easy pace with a gently flow. Speed things-up if you want a faster, busier pace. After you have selected your music, click-on the PHOTOS tab, select EDIT - SELECT ALL. All of your pictures will be highlighted (as shown above). Select EDIT again and this time click on REDISTRIBUTE TIME. This will synchronize your music so that the song will end with the last photo.
*TIP: To extend the display time of particular photo, select the photo and increase the EFFECT time.
*NOTE: When redistributing time, click the “Lock” button on the right bar to protect any photos you have customized transition and/or effect times. The program will leave those times unchanged.
► (5) CREATE YOUR VIDEO
Press the CREATE button to make your Timeless Tributes™ video. You can create a tribute video that can be played only on: a PC (.exe format); a PC or the Internet (HTML format –this is the default format) or is ready for conversion to your DVD player (WMV format).
We recommend that you create your Timeless Tributes™ video in the default HTML format. This format is quick to create and can be viewed on your PC’s web browser – great for immediate viewing/editing. You can also use this format to upload your video to the Internet. (See the “WEB PUBLISHING” documentation for a succinct discussion for how to do this.)
When you are sure your video is perfect, the last step is to create the video as WMV and burn it to DVD. (See the newsletter on 'DVD Publishing' for more info on burning to DVD)
