WELCOME TO TIMELESS TRIBUTES

We would like to start by welcoming you to Timeless Tributes. This is the first of twelve weekly educational newsletters we will be emailing you. Each newsletter is full of tips, tricks and other important information on Timeless Tributes Video Software. The newsletters were designed so that you will get the most out of our software and our customers find them to be an invaluable resource. If you would like to read ahead, all of the newsletters are available online (click the 'NEWSLETTERS' link on the menu bar above).

It is very important to us that you get the software installed properly and begin using the software successfully! However, before you call, we ask that you follow the steps below first. You will find that setting up the software on your own is easier than you think! If you get stuck email or call to schedule a time for one of our support representatives to login to your computer and help you set up the software.

INSTALLING THE SOFTWARE

You will need the Timeless Tributes 4.0 installation DVD to install the software, music and graphics. You will receive your DVD within 5 - 10 days of purchasing the software (if you did not receive the DVD please let us know).

Step-by-step installation instructions are located on the DVD Case. Contact our support department if you run into any difficulties during installation.

*NOTE: You will need the software and music/graphic license keys to install the software. These were emailed to you when you purchased the software. If you did not receive this email or no longer have it, please email keys@timeless-tributes.com to request a new copy.

DOCUMENTATION AND TUTORIALS

If you have some free time we recommend reading through articles in the KB, they are full of great tips and tricks! Visit www.timeless-tributes.com and click the "Knowledge Base" link on the right side of the page.

We have included a sample video for you to play around with, this is a great way to get started. The file is located in C:\VideoTributes\

You can see how we have laid out the pictures, added captions, text only slides, effects, music and a background photo.

Newsletter 2 will go in to detail on how to create your first video. If you want to read ahead you can find the newsletter here: NEWSLETTERS

GETTING STARTED TIPS

1) Scanning Resolution - We recommend scanning photos at 90 - 100 dpi. We have found that in most cases it is unnecessary to scan photos any higher. High resolution photos take longer to scan, take up more disc space and are more difficult to work with. We only recommend scanning a photo at 300 dpi if you plan to use a zoom or pan effect on the photo.

2) Saving Your Work - To make things easier for file management, we suggest you create a separate folder for each Person’s information, for example create a new folder as: C:\VideoTributes\Photos\JohnDoe\ …. Place all photos, web pages and video (WMV) files pertaining to John Doe in this folder.  This makes it easier to burn your files all at once to DVD as master copies, as well as removing old material to create space on your hard drive.   If you are unsure how to create a separate folder, go to My Computer, double click on C:\, then double click on VideoTributes directory.  Along right side, click on “Make New Folder”. (You can then rename the folder as you wish.)

3) Saving Your Projects - Make sure that you always save your project! In Timeless Tributes Creator click "File" then "Save Project". We recommend that you save projects into the same directory as you created above for the persons photos. We also recommend that you give the file the same name as the person you are creating the video for.

*NOTE: Clicking the "CREATE" button creates your tribute video, but does not save your project!

4) Pop-up Blockers - You might discover that when you create your video as HTML when it opens in Internet Explorer it won't play. You probably have a pop-up blocker installed. To play the video click the tribute video link and it will open in a new window.

*TIP: To prevent this from happening in the future. Click the warning bar at the top of the window and choose to "Always allow pop-ups from this site".
Sincerely,
