Installation is an automated process. Simply double-click the installer and answer YES to all questions. You will be prompted for your license key that you received by email when you purchased the software.


MUSIC DIRECTORY

The music will be installed in a directory located in C:\VideoTributes\Music
The Music is organized into sub-folders sorted by the genre of music.



We recommend that you view the Music Library in the Windows DETAILS mode. To do this select the VIEW menu and select the DETAILS button. Your window should look similar to this:



When viewing our music library, most of the music has a title that looks like this:

The portion we’ve highlighted in RED is the song title. This is followed by a description of the musical composition in GREEN. Followed by the song’s length in minutes and seconds in BLUE. All of our music has been compressed and is ready for use on the Internet.

To listen to a song, simply double-click on the song of your choice.

Complilations - Combinations of songs that communicate a style and theme. The Life’s Journey™ is special compilations that are a musical story reflecting the stages of our lives: The exhilaration of early childhood, The discovery of youth, The excitement of young adulthood, The responsibility of our working years, The retrospection of retirement.

Favorites - A collection of our favorite songs.


WHAT YOU CAN DO WITH THE MUSIC

All of our music is fully licensed for use with TimelessTributes™. Furthermore, we negotiated the music licenses to allow you to play the TimelessTributes™ videos in your funeral home and on the Internet. Also, you are licensed to make copies of the TimelessTributes™ videos to give them to the Family and their friends.

You are also licensed to edit and combine songs. Go ahead and create your own compilations. (There are lots of free audio editors on the web, we like Audacity)


WHAT YOU CANNOT DO WITH THE MUSIC

You can not use the music for any other purpose than as “background” music synchronized to a TimelessTributes™ video.


CAN I USE MUSIC FROM A CD

The disappointing answer is no. We have learned that your BMI, ASCAP, SESAC and SOCAN licenses allow you to play music in your funeral home over your sound system but do not include the right to “synchronize” music to a video or publish it on the Internet. This means that “popular” music provided by the family should not be used with a TimelessTributes™ video (or any other similar product/service) unless a license has been negotiated with both the record company and the composer. Needless to say, this licensing process is slow and expensive. Nevertheless, we are committed to building the best music library in the industry… and already have a strong foundation.

FYI – it takes months to get the record companies and music publishers to respond to licensing requests. We have surveyed a number of funeral homes in the US, Canada and the UK to learn the most requested songs. We have compiled this list and are working to license as much as possible. We will keep you apprised of our progress.
